The Jerky Diet
The Jerky Diet: Part II
The day after Halloween, 2018, Founder Lance Avery embarked on his second jerky diet. This time he wanted to get SCIENIFIC, so he did blood work before and after the 21 day diet to record his results through SCIENCE. This diet was a little easier, since he also included Big Fork’s tasty snack sticks into the mix as a second option for snacking throughout the day.
If you care to understand what this 21 day jerky diet is all about, scroll below to see how it all started and more details on how to do it.
Day 1: 188 lbs., November 1, 2018 (before)
Day 21: 176 lbs., November 21, 2018 (after)
Day 1 Blood Work, all is good except LDL Cholesterol
Day 21 Blood Work, see the difference? 32 points lower in LDL in 21 days!
Here are my main takeaways:
-
This diet works - High Protein, Very Little Carbs, No Alcohol, No Dairy, No Sweets of ANY KIND, it works not only to lose weight but also lowers bad cholesterol.
-
If I did it again, I would have a few eggs and a little bacon sausage in the morning to mix things up and will make the challenge a little easier and more interesting from an eating perspective.
-
Next time, my lunch would consist of just the jerky and snack sticks. Probably just a bag or two of jerky and 2 snack sticks in the afternoon. That should do the trick until dinner.
-
Dinner should be a plateful of veggies or a salad. You can add a little protein here too if you’re still hungry. I think what’s most important is to stay away from the refined sugars. The goal is not to starve yourself. In the contrast, it’s really just to kick start your body into burning the fat and sugars that’s already in the body.

If you want to do this anytime, please contact me at: lance@bigforkbrands.com to talk about it in more detail. You can also order enough jerky and snack sticks to do the 21-day diet.
Here is a basic meal plan:
The Jerky Diet: Part I
During an early morning spinning class on April 10, 2018, Founder of Big Fork Brands, Lance Avery, had an inspirational idea. Eat what you create to lose the weight. Conveniently, the jerky he created comes in a clean-label, 100-calorie; 11 grams of protein packs, so it’s an easy way regulate calorie consumption.
The goal: lose 20 lbs. or stay on the jerky diet for 21 days, whatever happens first.
Why? Frustrated by his slow weight gain over the years, Lance decided more extreme measures were needed.
The Skinny: consume up to 8 packs of Big Fork Brands Craft Pork Jerky a day along with ample amounts of water, a cup of coffee in the morning, 3 tablets of Dr. Tobias Vitality Multi Vitamin, tea in the evening, and after the first week, he adding one healthy vegetable side for dinner (under 300 calories). No drinking of alcohol. No Dairy. No Sugar of any kind.
Day 1 of the Jerky Diet
Day 21 of the Jerky Diet
Results: within the first week he lost 10 lbs. By the end of week 2 he had shed 12 lbs. In the end, he took the entire jerky challenge of 21 day loosing a total of 13.5 lbs.
